Get Your Skin Summer-Ready in 3 Easy Steps

Lovisa Hahn

Summer is just around the corner, and it’s time to give your body some extra love and prep your skin for the sun.
During winter, our skin often becomes dry and lacks proper care. But as summer approaches and the summer wardrobe comes out, you’ll probably want your skin to look its absolute best. That’s why we want to share a few tips to help your skin glow and feel refreshed. Keep reading and get your skin summer-ready by following these easy tips.

1. Say goodbye to dead skin cells – exfoliate

Our bodies constantly produce new skin cells. Normally, it takes about 30 days for your skin to shed dead cells and make room for the new ones. But sometimes, your skin needs a little extra help—otherwise, those dead skin cells can clog pores and lead to breakouts like acne.

To help your skin renew itself, start exfoliating 1–2 times per week. It’ll even out your skin texture, improve your glow, and help the rest of your products work more effectively. That’s why exfoliation is the first step when prepping your skin for summer.

Mechanical or chemical exfoliation?

When it comes to prepping your skin, it’s good to know that you have two options: mechanical or chemical exfoliation.

For the face, we recommend using chemical exfoliants. That means looking for ingredients like AHA or BHA acids, which are commonly found in serums or toners. These help to brighten the skin and combat acne and blackheads. Physical scrubs can actually damage your skin and cause irritation, so it’s best to avoid them on the face.

On the other hand, you can use mechanical exfoliation for the body. Choose a body scrub or make your own at home—try mixing olive oil and sugar—and gently buff away dry, dead skin.

2. The key to soft and glowing skin – moisturize

Once you’ve exfoliated and removed dead skin, it’s time to move on to the next step. If you want your skin to be summer-ready, it needs lots of hydration and care.

Hydrate your skin with your favorite products

For the face, there are plenty of hydrating products you can use:

  • Serum – Use a hydrating serum to give your skin that radiant glow. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, propolis, panthenol, glycerin, and peptides.

  • Moisturizer – No matter your skin type, a good moisturizer is a must. Choose one that suits your skin's needs in terms of texture, ingredients, and formulation.

  • Face oil – For deep hydration, add a facial oil to your routine. We recommend trying our Natural Glow Face Oil, which works for all skin types.

  • Face mask – For a home spa moment and a bit of self-care, treat your skin to a hydrating face mask at least once a week.

Don’t forget your body

Skincare isn’t just about your face—your whole body deserves love. One of the easiest ways to prepare your skin for summer is by using a body lotion regularly.

We know applying lotion can feel like a hassle—many people don’t like the sticky feeling. That’s why we suggest trying our Organic Body Lotion after your shower to give your skin an extra moisture boost. The best part? It doesn’t leave a greasy residue—just soft, smooth skin.

Show extra love to your hands

In recent years, many people have complained about dry, irritated hands—some even developing eczema. Thanks to frequent hand washing and hand sanitizers during the pandemic, our hands have taken a hit.

So, to get your skin summer-ready, don’t forget to care for your hands too. Grab a moisturizing organic hand cream and show your hands some TLC. They’ll thank you!

. SPF = BFF – don’t forget sunscreen

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen—it’s the hot topic in skincare for a reason. SPF is the most important step in your routine. It protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays that can cause all sorts of problems, from wrinkles and pigmentation to inflammation and even skin cancer.

Wear sunscreen every day with at least SPF 30 to properly prep your skin for summer.

If you’re using vitamin C, vitamin A (retinol), or AHA/BHA acids, sunscreen becomes even more important. These ingredients make your skin more sensitive to the sun, meaning you’re more likely to burn. Daily SPF helps prevent premature aging, sunburn, sunspots, and yes—even skin cancer.
Important: SPF should be worn all year round—not just in the summer! Is your skin ready for summer?
