Wash your hair the right way! Avoid common mistakes and get the best results

If you want beautiful, soft, and shiny hair, you need to take care of it properly. This means using good-quality hair products that are hair-friendly and using them correctly. Using high-quality products incorrectly is almost pointless. Since we believe it's important to use good hair care products correctly, we want to share some tips with you. Today, we'll talk about how to wash your hair properly to achieve the best results. So, keep reading to find out if you're washing your hair wrong and how to avoid common mistakes made during hair washing.

How often is it good to wash your hair?

First and foremost, let's discuss an important topic - how often you should wash your hair. Many people believe it's best to wash their hair daily or as often as possible. However, this is not true. Every time you wash your hair, you clean the scalp of its natural oils, leaving it dry. As a result, your scalp often starts producing more sebum to compensate for this. This can lead to greasy hair immediately after washing, prompting more frequent washing and creating a vicious cycle.

To avoid drying out your scalp and hair, our tip is to start washing your hair less frequently. It would be great if you could gradually reduce it until you're washing your hair twice a week. If you can manage to wash your hair only once a week, even better! This will help you maintain a healthier and more balanced scalp.

Wash Your Hair Properly with the Right Products

Now that you know you should wash your hair once or twice a week for the best results, let's talk about choosing products that work for you and properly care for your hair. Many shampoos, conditioners, and other hair products often contain questionable ingredients. These can include SLS, SLES, and many other drying and harsh chemicals that can harm your hair. This leads to dry hair that becomes greasy more quickly.

A hot tip for you is to look for natural hair products that are gentle on both your hair and scalp. By doing so, you'll avoid a dry scalp and dry, frizzy hair. You're welcome to check out our Detox Kit, which includes a mild shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner. These products won't dry out your hair and will restore the moisture balance in your scalp, helping you regain hair shine. If your hair becomes greasy quickly due to drying from strong products with harmful chemicals, our kit is what your hair needs. When you start using good products and washing your hair correctly, you'll see a significant difference in your hair's condition.

How to Wash Your Hair Properly

Now that you've learned how to choose the right hair products that will care for your hair, making it soft, smooth, and shiny, it's time to tell you how to wash your hair like a pro.

Use Shampoo Correctly and Wash Your Hair Properly

Okay - first and foremost, you need to learn how to cleanse your hair properly. After carefully selecting your shampoo, it's time to start using it correctly. Here's what you should do:

  • One common mistake we make with shampoo is using it only once when washing our hair. To truly clean your hair and remove all dirt, it's important to shampoo your hair twice! Why wash your hair twice? The first shampooing removes dirt and excess oils. So, take a small amount of shampoo and massage it into your scalp. Then rinse it out and repeat the process with a bit more product. During the second shampooing, you'll experience the full effect of the shampoo and achieve the results the shampoo promises.

  • Avoid applying shampoo to the lengths of your hair - it's unnecessary. Apply shampoo only to your scalp, and the lengths will be cleaned as you rinse out the shampoo. If you apply shampoo to the hair ends, you can needlessly dry out your hair.

If you use our organic detox shampoo to wash your hair without chemicals and shampoo your hair as described above, your hair will feel fresh and clean for longer.

Conditioner on the Scalp?

Conditioner is another crucial step in your hair care routine if you want to wash your hair properly. While shampoo removes dirt and cleans your hair, it also removes your natural oils. This can lead to dryness if you don't provide your hair with nourishment and moisture. That's why conditioner is essential. When it comes to our kit, the conditioner is even more critical! Since our detox shampoo doesn't contain silicons that typically make hair softer, your hair may feel coarse if you skip applying conditioner after shampooing. So, never forget to apply our organic conditioner and properly care for your hair. Here are some tips:

  • Apply the conditioner throughout your hair after cleaning it. Let the conditioner sit in your hair for about 2 minutes if your hair is short and 3 minutes if you have long hair. Then rinse it out and enjoy soft hair.

  • Use the conditioner as a hair mask at least once a week. To provide your hair with an extra boost of moisture and nourishment, we recommend using our conditioner as a hair mask from time to time. Leave it in your hair for about 10 minutes for short hair and 20 minutes for long hair. The result? Soft, smooth, shiny hair that's easy to comb.

  • Should you apply conditioner to your scalp? Different conditioners work differently. But when it comes to our organic conditioner, our tip is to apply it to the scalp as well. The reason for this is that our shampoo is silicone-free, so it can't soften your hair like some other shampoos. Therefore, to soften your entire hair, it's good to apply the conditioner to both the scalp and the lengths.

Don't Use a Towel to Dry Your Hair

Last but certainly not least, here's a tip about hair drying. Most people tend to dry their hair with a towel after washing it. However, something you should know is that a terry cloth towel can make your hair frizzy and damaged. So, instead of rubbing your hair with a towel, which is harsh on the hair, it's better to use a T-shirt to dry your hair. Properly washing your hair and drying it the right way is essential, so follow all these tips, and your hair will thank you.
