How to look after your hair this summer.

Helena Olsson

Sun, wind, salt water, chlorine. It's a lot for your hair to handle in three months - and you carry it into autumn if you don't look after it now.

I've worked as a hairdresser for 30 years, and I've seen it many times. A client comes in in September with dry, fragile lengths and says, "I don't know what happened." I do. The summer happened.

Sun, wind, salt water, chlorine. That's a lot for your hair to handle over three months - and most of it is avoidable with a few small changes.

Your hair needs as much thought as your skin.

Most of us are fairly good at adjusting our skincare by season. Hair care is the part people forget. But hair changes just like skin does when temperature and humidity shift.

In winter, the problem is usually dryness from the inside - the air pulls moisture out. In summer, it's external stress. UV breaks down the hair's structure. Salt and chlorine strip away its natural oils. And you carry that into autumn if you don't look after it now.

Wash your hair smarter, not more.

When it's warm, we sweat more, and many of us wash every day. I understand why - but every wash takes protein and moisture out of the strand. Water alone breaks down the fibre a little each time.

What you want is a shampoo and conditioner that actually put back what washing takes out - not one that only cleans and leaves the hair to fend for itself. Our Clean Kit does exactly that: coconut-based surfactants clean gently, without stripping the scalp and hair of their natural oils, and no silicones to give a false sense of softness.

UV protection for your hair

We talk about this too little. The sun breaks down the keratin in your hair the same way it breaks down collagen in your skin. The result is fragile, duller lengths - and, if your hair is coloured, colour that fades and shifts.

Our Leave-in Conditioner contains hydrolysed quinoa, which forms a protective layer against heat, UV, and colour fade. Apply it to damp or dry hair - no rinsing.

The Leave-in Conditioner, in numbers

It builds the hair up with every use - not just for a day, but over time.

83% less hair breakage

62% less frizz

0 silicones, and no rinsing required

Give your hair a little extra this summer

If you know you'll be swimming a lot, spending long days in the sun, or using heat tools regularly, give your hair a better chance to recover. It doesn't have to be complicated. The Leave-in Conditioner goes a long way on its own.

What you do now shows up in September. Summer is long, and your hair remembers it. How you treat it now leaves a mark you live with well after the holiday is over. Wash gently. Protect against the sun. Replenish properly. That's really all it takes.
