Questions you might have.

How long does the perfume oil last?
It depends on your skin type, the climate and how much you apply, so we don't give a set number of hours. Perfume oils wear differently from sprays. With no alcohol to evaporate, the scent stays close to your skin and unfolds gradually, instead of projecting strongly at first and then fading. Most people find it a softer, more personal scent that stays with them. For more presence, apply a little more or reapply through the day.
How should I store it?
Keep the cap on and store it away from direct sun and heat. A drawer or cupboard is ideal. Best used within 24 months of opening.
Can I put it in my hair?
It's made for skin, but if you'd like to scent your hair, roll a little onto the ends or onto your brush rather than your scalp.
Will it stain my clothes?
Let it dry on your skin before getting dressed. As with any perfume, avoid applying it directly onto silk or light-coloured fabrics.
Why can't I smell it after an hour?
It's probably still there. Your nose gets used to a scent you've been wearing for a while and stops noticing it. Ask a friend, or smell your wrist after a break.
How do I apply it?
Roll onto your pulse points: inner wrists, the side of your neck and behind your ears. One or two swipes on each is enough. Let it settle into your skin, and don't rub your wrists together, because that breaks down the top notes faster.
Are there allergens?
Yes. Every fragrance contains some allergens, natural ones included. EU law requires certain fragrance allergens to be named on the label when they're present above a set level, and we list them all. You can find the full ingredient list for each scent on the box and on its product page.

If you have a known allergy or sensitive skin, check the ingredient list before you buy. When trying a new scent, apply a little to your inner wrist first and wait 24 hours.
Is it natural or organic?
No, and that's on purpose. We choose ingredients for how well they're tested for safety, not for whether they come from nature or a lab. Some of the best-studied, safest fragrance materials are synthetic, and "natural" doesn't automatically mean gentler on your skin or hormones. That's why we list every ingredient on the label: so you can see exactly what's inside and decide for yourself. Our perfume oils don't carry a natural or organic certification.
Why don't you just say "fragrance" or "parfum" like other brands?
Because one word can hide dozens of ingredients. We'd rather you see everything and decide for yourself.
Why are they called perfume oils?
"Perfume oil" is the name for alcohol-free perfume, as opposed to a spray. The scent itself is a fragrance oil, and here it's carried in Triethyl Citrate instead of alcohol. It feels lighter than other carrier oils, but it still wears close to the skin.
What is Triethyl Citrate?
A clear, plant-derived ingredient used in place of perfumer's alcohol. It carries the scent without drying the skin. It's also used in food and pharmaceuticals.
What do the perfume oils contain?
Each scent is about 20% fragrance and 80% Triethyl Citrate, a carrier made from citric acid. The full ingredient list for each scent is on the box and the product page.
How are they different from other perfumes?
Every ingredient listed. Most brands write "fragrance" or "parfum" and stop there. We list everything that's inside.
Reviewed by toxicologists in Sweden. Independent toxicologists assessed the formula for hormone safety, the same standard we use for our hair and scalp care.
Alcohol-free. No ethanol, so it won't dry out your skin the way alcohol can, and the scent doesn't flash off in the first few minutes.
No phthalates. Many brands use them to make a scent last longer. We don't.
Made in Paris. Inspired by Sweden, crafted with some of the finest perfume ingredients in the world.
What are Under Your Skin Fragrance Oils?
